Published in the March 2020 Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, a survey totaling 300 participants (with 94% of them females and 60 participants per nationality), this graph shows the agreeableness with the reasons for undergoing the first aesthetic medical procedure. Dissatisfaction with appearance was the most agreed reason for all the countries except Malaysia. However, Malaysians find it more agreeable about a confidence improvement compared with other countries, which definitely leads to an improvement in our quality of life. While this may not reflect the views of all Malaysians, it certainly does leave room for us to ponder about the other reasons.
